The Synod of the PCU created a monastery on the basis of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra

Epiphanius will petition the Cabinet of Ministers to transfer a certain church to the use of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Synod of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has decided to form a male monastery on the basis of one of the churches of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, which will be called “Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine”.

The monastery was adopted taking into account the special significance of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra as a shrine of national and world importance and to “overcome the consequences of uncanonical subordination of this monastery to the Moscow Patriarchate.”

it (Lavra, ed.) has direct subordination to the Primate of the Orthodox Church as its Holy Archimandrite (abbot), “the statement reads.

with a request to transfer one of temples of the Upper Lavra and some of its premises in use for worship and monastic activities of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of the PCU.

Note that the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra monastery complex is owned by the state, and the monastery has only been leased to the UOC-MP for 50 years. In 2020, the prosecutor's office reviewed the lease agreement, when the Ministry of Culture did not rule out the possibility of its termination and eviction of the UOC-MP from the Lavra.
