The President of Ukraine called on the international community for a preventive response.
All world leaders and international organizations should give to make Russia understand that a terrorist attack on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power plant, which it may be preparing, would mean exactly the same thing as the use of weapons of mass destruction. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, called on Europe and the whole world to take preventive measures due to the possible preparations by the occupiers to blow up the dam in an evening address.
“Now everyone in the world must act powerfully and quickly to prevent another such Russian terrorist attack. Blowing up the dam will mean a large-scale catastrophe. Of course, we understand that the occupiers do not care what happens to the territory of Ukraine,” the head of state said.
In particular, he also mentioned the consequences for Crimea that the breakthrough of the Kakhovskaya HPP could lead to. According to Zelenskyi, this will completely destroy the possibility of supplying water from the Dnipro to the territory of the peninsula, as the North Crimean Canal will “simply disappear”.
“The consequences for Russia must be appropriate. The world must respond preventively. This is key now. The principle of preventive response to security threats must finally become one of the basic principles of international policy,” the president emphasized.

At the same time, according to him, the invaders are very clearly aware that they will not be able to maintain control not only over Kherson, but also over the entire southern Ukraine, including Crimea, if they seriously consider the option of carrying out a terrorist attack on the hydroelectric power plant and carry out its preparation.
