The Russian aviation has another problem: hackers have irrevocably “killed” the Rosaviatsia database

Rosaviatsia does not have backup copies, “because the Ministry of Finance did not allocate money for it.”

У авиции РФ очередная беда: хакеры безвозвратно

A powerful hacker attack took place on Rosaviatsia's servers, as a result of which the entire database and public services system were irretrievably destroyed. This was reported by the Russian media.

According to unofficial data, on March 26, Rosaviatsia was subjected to a hacker attack, as a result of which data could be lost. The agency was even forced to switch to paper mail.

Approximately 65 TB of data were destroyed, including all paperwork, files on servers, electronic correspondence in a year and a half, and the Gosuslug system was removed.

Rosaviatsia does not have backup copies, ie backups, “since the Ministry of Finance did not allocate money for this.”

The Prosecutor General's Office and the FSB are investigating the incident.

Such an attack could have been carried out only by a high-level professional, believes the general director of “Cyberpolygon” Luka Safonov. If the fact of a hacker attack is confirmed, it can be considered one of the largest targeted attacks in recent times, he said.

According to him, hackers in foreign shadow forums have joined forces.

“If before they looked for vulnerabilities individually, now they dump all the information in the branches of the forum and use the expertise of all participants to intensify the attack,” – said the expert.

He emphasizes that “the Internet does not remember such unprecedented actions.”

It will be recalled that after the sanctions of the world community against the Russian aviation industry, adopted after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Russian Federation itself strengthened its isolation – closed the skies to aircraft from 36 countries.

ZN.UA. wrote what transport sanctions mean for the Russian Federation . This was stated by former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anatoly Gritsenko.

The European Union, as well as the United States, Canada and other aircraft manufacturers, have banned the transfer of technology, equipment, and spare parts for the aviation and space industries to Russia.

It is also forbidden to provide air travel insurance and reinsurance services to Russia.

It will also be recalled that hackers from all over the world sided with Ukraine in the war unleashed by Russian President Vladimir Putin . They have already managed to hack the websites of Russian government agencies, Russian media, TV channels and banks.
