The President of Serbia explained when his country can support EU sanctions against the Russian Federation

According to him, Serbia will build its political alliances and is not ashamed of good relations with the Russian Federation, America, China and the EU.

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic commented < /span>the possibility of the country joining sanctions against Russia. According to him, in order to join the European Union, his country will have to harmonize its policy with the policy of the EU, in particular, regarding the introduction of sanctions. This is reported by RTV.

“When they tell us that we have six months left to join the EU, we will fully harmonize our policy with theirs, because it is our duty to do so,” – he declared.

“Some people got votes because they misled the citizens that they were tough and tough, and after the election it was clear that tough was the only one who didn't threaten and didn't talk about it. I am quite a responsible person. I tried to defend my policy,” Vučić added.

The President of Serbia emphasized that his policy does not consist in flattering his people, so he does not understand why he should flatter embassies.

“I promise the people that we will defend our policies as long as we can,” Vucic said when asked if he would be able to keep his post.

Vucic also said that Serbia does not need anyone's military bases, but it will strengthen its army and maintain neutrality.

“Now Serbia wants to take care of its people, to be strong enough to stand on its own,” Vucic said in response to some media reports that Russia wants to turn the humanitarian center in Niš into a military base.

He added that Serbia will build its political alliances and that the country is not ashamed of good relations with Russia, America, and China, that it is on the way to the EU, but is ready to take care of itself independently.

According to Vučić, Serbia will maintain military neutrality as long as he is president.
