Russian troops pose an increased threat to the safe operation of nuclear power plants.
Russia has placed military equipment inside the perimeter of the nuclear project, including near reactor housings and other key infrastructure. This is stated in the report of the intelligence department of the Armed Forces of Canada.
“Ukrainian technicians continue to operate the nuclear power plant under the direct supervision of armed Russian servicemen, which increases the risk of human error due to stress or interference with the usual work routine. Without the illegal invasion of Russia and occupation of the region, this increased threat to the safe operation of the NPP would not exist,” the message on Twitter reads.
