The number of victims of the accident in Rivne region may increase – Ministry of Internal Affairs

The death toll from a collision between a minibus and a fuel truck in the Rivne region, which took place on May 3 on the Kyiv-Chop highway, may increase in the coming days. This was announced by Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky on the air of the national telethon.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that among the 12 victims who are currently in hospital are those in extremely serious condition.

“This is the largest accident in the last few years, without a doubt. Unfortunately, we can note the number of dead – it is currently 26. And 12 wounded are in hospital. Some of them are on the verge of life and death. And we understand that this figure, the death toll, may increase, “Monastyrsky said.

We will remind that according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the road accident happened because of the driver of the Mercedes-Benz Vito car, who overtook another vehicle and drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a fuel truck.
