The “nuclear deal” with Iran can still be saved – Macron named the condition

The French leader called on Tehran to fulfill its obligations.

President of France Emmanuel Macron considers it possible to restore the “nuclear deal” with Iran from 2015.

“The restoration of the historic agreement is still possible, but it should happen as soon as possible,” he told his Iranian counterpart Ibrahim Raisi during a telephone conversation.

The French leader expressed disappointment at the lack of progress at the talks in Vienna, writes AFP. And he called on Tehran to fulfill its obligations.

The “Nuclear Agreement” provides for the gradual lifting of sanctions on Iran in exchange for reducing the nuclear program and abandoning work on creating an atomic bomb.

In 2018, US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew Washington from the agreement and reinstated sanctions. After that, Tehran began to refuse to fulfill its obligations under the agreement.

Attempts to conduct new negotiations between the United States and Iran were in vain.
