Regulatory framework for working with children survivors of violence during the war was set for peacetime and needs to be changed. “We have had two cases of children at work – from Bucha and Irpen,” she said. – Although before that they talked about 23 children. The information should be carefully checked, including for women. Even if activists apply, it turns out that things are not so simple. How to ask correctly what to do with the evidence, especially if two or three weeks have passed. And there are not enough specialists to record all these crimes, ie to collect all the documents in such a way that they are relevant in court, and not to interrogate the victims several times.
But for a person it happened. And this is a deep trauma for years, if it is not treated.
Concerning children – a separate conversation. There should be a face-to-face consultation. In fact, the Barnachus model (interdisciplinary specialized center for working with children who have suffered from violence or witnessed such crimes). But in Ukraine they were created by UFGZ and UNICEF only a few, few trained psychologists. However, they are ready to work and teach others.
We need to change the regulatory framework, which was set in peacetime. The Barnachus standard went as a pilot and only in the places where they were and worked. And here it turns out that according to this model, we must teach everyone to work when there is a doctor in one place who will take samples, and in case he does not take, the algorithm must also be prescribed. Where will be a psychologist who will help the child in the community. And a psychologist who will interview. To reduce injuries, it should be performed once. And according to the method of a psychologist who interviews a person, then can not lead him. The legal framework should allow a psychologist to be interviewed according to a standard list, including about the war, so that he can record it all on video, which will then be taken into account in court. Because now the video is not taken into account in our courts. During the war, it is necessary to quickly change the legislation and begin to take into account all these points.

The war is not over. And we can only guess what will happen next, what will be the atrocities in the east. Now there is a problem with fixing such crimes. We need trained doctors, forensic experts, as well as special suitcases with tools to collect relevant evidence from the bodies. To have evidence of war crimes.
However, in my opinion, the main thing is to provide the victims with professional and timely psychological and, if necessary, medical care. As a rule, more than 72 hours pass after such cases. No post-exposure prophylaxis and medical care was provided in a timely manner. It remains only to observe and treat. And the most important thing is to provide psychological help. ”
