The Ukrainian boxer will return to the ring in October.
World champion in three divisions Vasyl Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) will return to the ring in a fight with the American Jemaine Ortiz, according to ESPN.
According to the source, the parties have already agreed on a fight that will lead one of the promotion company's boxing evenings Top Rank in the US at the end of October.
26-year-old Jemaine Ortiz competes in the lightweight division. The American has 17 fights (16 wins and 1 draw). In the future, Lomachenko plans to meet with the winner of the rematch between absolute world champion Devin Haney and George Kambosos, which is scheduled for October 16.
Recall that Vasyl Lomachenko, after the start of the full-scale military invasion of Russia, joined the Terrodefense of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi in Odesa. The Ukrainian boxer did not leave the country and refused to fight for the title of absolute world champion.
