The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium was headed by a journalist who visited the occupied Crimea and did not answer the question whose it is

There is a high probability that she arrived on the peninsula illegally.

Appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium after last week's resignation of Sophie Vilmes, former journalist and TV presenter Aja Lyabib, in July 2021, probably illegally visited the occupied Crimea and talked about the train as a visit to Russia, writes “Europeyska Pravda”.

About Lyabib's visit to Crimea in July 2021 is evidenced by her own and other posts on social networks, as well as comments on television.

In particular, on July 24, 2021, she posted on her Instagram a message about her arrival in Sevastopol. “Arriving in the bay of Sevastopol, a strange place, isn't it?” she captioned the photo, and the very next day she published a photo of evening Sevastopol.

The publication notes that Aja Lyabib came to the “Global Values” festival organized by the Sevastopol Academic Russian Drama Theater named after Lunacharsky. In 2021, it was held on July 23-25, and Lyabib was tagged in one of the posts about the festival on Facebook, which she shared on her own Facebook page. Later on, she will announce the festival as the main purpose of this trip.

Also, not then, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published on Facebook at the end of July last year, already after the end of the festival, photos from the Livadia Palace with an exposition about the Yalta Conference and Chekhov's dacha in Yalta.

Later in on the air of the Belgian state broadcaster RTBF, when asked whether she was returning “from Ukraine or from Russia”, Lyabib did not give a direct answer, but stated that “to land at the Simferopol airport, a Russian visa is needed”, and then turned on the comment of a Russian passer-by from Sevastopol, who says that “Crimea has always had Russian culture and no connection with Ukrainian culture.”

“Of course, the answer would have been different if I had handed the microphone to a Crimean Tatar or a Ukrainian,” Lyabib noted, however.

Nevertheless, speaking of the trip, she still fleetingly used the phrase that she went “to Russia “: “Will this festival in Crimea be the subject of a documentary film that you are currently preparing? – Yes, and that's why I went to Russia…”.

It is not known exactly how Aja Lyabib arrived on the territory of the occupied peninsula – through Russia, violating the laws of Ukraine, or through “Chongar”, but her words about the Simferopol airport may hint at entering from the territory of Russia .
