The Ministry of Education has determined the main areas of work that should ensure the stability of the educational process in wartime.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine presented project proposals to address urgent educational problems that have arisen in the country due to the war. Ideas and plans to improve the educational process were discussed at the second extraordinary meeting of the Sectoral Working Group “Education and Science”.

According to the agency, the Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet and his colleagues have identified priority areas for work on the problems of Ukrainian education in the war and postwar period.

“We have developed 6 projects with high priority and implementation horizon before the beginning of the new school year or even faster. These include digital devices for education, the 2022 introductory campaign, publishing textbooks and manuals for the New Ukrainian School, opening educational hubs abroad, expanding the school bus fleet for secondary schools, developing STEM education in the New Ukrainian School, “said Serhiy. The Ministry of Education and Science also stressed that important aspects of wartime are maintaining the continuity of the educational process, creating safe learning conditions, psychological support for pupils, students, teachers and teachers, as well as repairing damaged educational infrastructure in the near future.

Another important decision of the Ministry of Education is to test students to identify gaps in knowledge that have arisen in connection with the war. It is estimated that it will cost the country about 344.5 million hryvnias. In fact, only 19.5 million of them will be spent on testing. Other funds are needed to pay teachers who will help organize this process.
