The Minister for Veterans Affairs explained which volunteers will receive UBD status

Yulia Laputina said that only the direct participants in the hostilities would receive the appropriate status.

Minister of Veterans Affairs Yulia Laputina spoke about who will be able to obtain the status of a participant in hostilities after the war against Russia. In particular, she stressed that among the volunteers it will be given only to those who took a direct part in the fighting.

Laputina noted that according to the updated legislation, every defender who took a direct part in hostilities as part of territorial defense and volunteer formations of territorial communities has the right to receive the status of a participant in hostilities and appropriate social guarantees from the state.

“When the law was passed, which gives volunteers the right to receive the status of UBD with appropriate social guarantees, no one knew where the theater of operations would take place. Therefore, this right was granted throughout Ukraine. However, according to the Procedure for Granting Status, only those who took a direct part in hostilities will receive it, “the minister concluded.

Laputina also said that the Ministry of Veterans Affairs will have a special commission with the participation of representatives of the security and defense sector, which will consider the above issues.
