The politician believes that in the conditions of war celebrations can turn into provocations on the part of Russians.
In Warsaw, the Russians want to ban the celebration of May 9. This was stated by the mayor of the Polish capital Rafal Tschaskowski, who believes that in the conditions of the war in Ukraine, the event may turn into a provocation.
On a Twitter page, the politician called on government officials to ban Russians from holding a holiday parade in the city. Tshaskovsky was outraged by the passivity of the authorities in this regard and expressed the opinion that the main holiday of the aggressor country should not take place in Poland at all.
“The Russian Embassy wants to celebrate May 9 in Warsaw and has already asked the Polish Foreign Ministry to provide support. I am categorically against. No Polish government agency should join this initiative. Such measures should be banned altogether. I will not give my consent to the aggressor's holiday in Warsaw, when Russian soldiers continue to kill civilians, “said Tshaskovsky.
emphasizing that they did not satisfy the request of the Russian Embassy. As for the ban on celebrations on May 9 in Warsaw, the agency stressed that Tschaskovsky can make this decision on his own, signing the relevant order.
