The main forecaster of the country told what the winter will be like

The Ukrhydrometeorological Center gave the first forecast.

what will this year's winterbe like. According to him, the probability of a cold winter is small.

“There will not be a very cold winter. Such a probability for Ukraine is small. All our winters have above-normal temperatures. Frosty periods are not excluded, perhaps even severe ones . But they will be short and will not affect the general period of winter,” said Kulbida in an interview with Kp.ua.

According to the forecaster, over the past 25 years, the average temperature in January-February in Ukraine has increased by 2 – 2.5 degrees, the duration of the winter period has shortened. However, according to Kulbida, there will not be a comfortable cool summer in Ukraine either, as the average temperature in July-August in Ukraine has increased by 2.5-2.8 degrees, and the number of days with a temperature of +30 degrees and above has doubled.

Kulbida also spoke about the fact that synoptic observations are not carried out in the occupied regions, as metrological stations and equipment were damaged due to hostilities. However, forecasting the weather in all territories, including temporarily occupied ones, is helped by the information that forecasters receive from satellites.
