Head of the Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in In the Kirovohrad region, Oleksandr Nakonechny was found dead on Saturday evening, August 20. According to Andrii Lavrus, a member of the Kropyvnytskyi District Council from the “European Solidarity” party, he probably committed suicide.
“According to the media, the head of the SBU department in the Kirovohrad region Oleksandr Nakonechnyi committed suicide. Sources in law enforcement agencies confirmed the information and provided details,” wrote Lavrus on Telegram on Sunday morning.
The deputy noted that according to the previous version, the colonel committed suicide with a pistol at his home. He died on the spot from the gunshot wound.
Information agency “Interfax-Ukraine” notes that the main office of the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Bureau of Investigation confirmed the death of the head of the Ukrainian Security Service, Nakonechny.
“The SBU and the Security Intelligence Service are studying all the circumstances of the death of the head of the Security Service in Kirovohrad region,” the press service of the Security Service informed the agency and promised to inform society about the circumstances of the death later.
According to the “Obozrevatel” publication, his wife found the dead body at home.
“According to preliminary data, he committed suicide with the use of a prize firearm – a pistol,” the source of the publication said.
Olexandr Nakonechnyi held the post of head of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kirovohrad Region from the beginning of 2021.
