The head of the French Foreign Ministry reminded Lavrov of Russia's promise to allow an international mission to the ZANP

Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna in On Tuesday morning, she held a telephone conversation with the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Lavrov, during which she expressed her support for the rapid deployment of the mission of IAEA experts at the Zaporizhia NPP, the French Foreign Ministry reported.

“During the conversation that took place after the recent dialogue between the President of France and the President of Ukraine (August 17) and with the President of the Russian Federation (August 19), the conversation focused on the methods of sending the IAEA expert mission to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant,” the statement reads. of the French department.

The minister emphasized the risks to nuclear safety associated with the occupation of the facility by the Russian armed forces. Column also expressed France's support for the rapid deployment of the IAEA expert mission in accordance with the recommendations of its director general and with full respect for Ukrainian sovereignty. In particular, the head of the French Foreign Ministry pointed out that Russia publicly agreed to this, and also promised to refrain from any actions that could threaten the security of this mission.

“The minister also reminded of France's determination to continue supporting Ukraine in the conditions of the illegal and unjustified nature of Russian aggression”, – added the main diplomatic representation of France.
