The Free Democratic Party of Germany called for the dismantling of Nord Stream 2

Politicians believe that the gas pipeline was a geopolitical project of the Kremlin from the very beginning.

The Faction of the Free Democratic Party of Germany called for dismantling “North Stream – 2”. This is stated in the resolution of the conference of the party in Bremen, DW reports.

In particular, representatives of the party, which is part of the ruling coalition, believe that the fastest possible preparation of the concept is needed for legal, technical and environmental guarantees of the non-introduction of the Nord Stream -2″ into operation.

“Nordstream pipelines from the very beginning were a geopolitical project of the Kremlin, the goal of which was to isolate Ukraine,” the politicians said.

They also promised Ukraine further support in the struggle with the aggression of the Russian Federation.

Also, the Free Democratic Party called to stop the purchase of raw materials and energy carriers from the Russian Federation and Belarus as soon as possible, in accordance with the capabilities of the German economy.

Earlier, German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said that his country can cope with the energy crisis without reviving the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project.

For him in his words, the launch of the gas pipeline is not an option to get out of a difficult situation because Nord Stream-2 will only increase the country's dependence on gas from the Russian Federation.
