Turkey said that the first ship from Ukrainian grain arrived on its shores. In Istanbul, the ship will be checked for compliance with the terms of the grain agreement before it leaves for Lebanon, Voice of America reports.

However, his first stop is Istanbul, where representatives of the special coordination center will inspect the vessel to ensure that the ship is not carrying weapons or other non-food items. Such conditions are stipulated by the agreement on the resumption of grain exports from Ukraine.

Representatives of Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Turkey and the United Nations, which are parties to the grain agreement, work in the coordination center.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres previously said that the Razoni was “loaded with two scarce commodities – corn and hope.”

“Hope for millions of people around the world who depend on the smooth operation of Ukraine's ports to feed families,” Guterres noted.
