The European Council has called for an international fundraising conference within the Solidarity Trust Fund.
The leaders of the states and governments of the European Union are committed to supporting Ukraine in the post- war reconstruction process and have decided to establish a Solidarity Trust Fund, as evidenced by the conclusions of the EU summit.
“Given the destruction and enormous losses caused to Ukraine by Russia's military aggression, the European Union is committed to supporting the Ukrainian government to meet its urgent needs and, after ending Russia's pressure to restore a democratic Ukraine. To this end, the European Council agrees to establish a Trust Fund for Solidarity with Ukraine and invites the participation of its international partners, as well as calls for the immediate start of preparations, “the statement said.
The European Council also calls for an international fundraising conference within the Solidarity Trust Fund of Ukraine.
“This crisis is a serious problem for the infrastructure and public services of the countries hosting Ukrainian refugees, especially on the borders with Ukraine. The European Council recognizes all the efforts already made to receive refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine, and calls on all Member States to intensify their efforts in a spirit of continued unity and solidarity, and invites the Commission to take all necessary initiatives to promote such efforts. ” statement.
In a joint statement, the EU countries also reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the uninterrupted and uninterrupted supply of electricity and gas to Ukraine.
“The recent synchronization of Ukrainian and Moldovan power grids with EU grids is an outstanding achievement. This shows that our future is now interconnected. The safety of Ukraine's nuclear facilities must be guaranteed, in particular with the support of the International Atomic Energy Agency, “the statement said.
The European Council also called on the European Commission to continue to provide technical assistance to help Kiev carry out the necessary reforms.
