The EU is working on a new package of sanctions against Russia — Politico

New sanctions may also affect Belarus.

Vice President of the European Commission Vera Yurova said that the EU on a new package of sanctions against Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine, Politico reports.

According to her, the bloc may soon introduce new sanctions.

Yurova also emphasized the role , which is played by “some neighboring countries”, allowing trade in sanctioned goods with Russia.

Politico points out that at the meeting of EU ambassadors, the main representatives of the bloc did not get more clarity about the future package of sanctions. Three EU diplomats informed the publication about this. But Belarus is expected to be the focus of new sanctions.
