The CSTO sends its Secretary General to Karabakh amid the escalation between Armenia and Azerbaijan

situation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the CSTO decided to send its Secretary General to the Karabakh conflict zone. The Belarusian publication “Belta” writes about the decision of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which is called “pro-Russian NATO”.

Yesterday, an extraordinary meeting of the Security Council of the CSTO took place, and then it was time to consider the request of Armenia as one of the participants of the organization. In addition to this country, the organization includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, and Russia. Despite prejudices about pro-Kremlin rhetoric, according to the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, CSTO member states (except Belarus and, actually, the Russian Federation) generally do not support the Kremlin in the war against Ukraine. Adhering to neutrality, they also do not recognize the annexation of Crimea and the independence of the “LDNR”.Returning to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, the CSTO Secretary General should create a working group to analyze the situation and develop proposals for its solution.
