The coronavirus pandemic is not over – we are learning to ignore it

Doctors and politicians hoped that vaccination would provide collective immunity and end the Covid-19 pandemic. However, evolution seems to have other plans for this.

Covid-19 > now where the global HIV/AIDS pandemic was before the advent of antiretroviral drugs. American epidemiologist Gregg Gonzalves drew an important parallel between the two pandemics. “The HIV epidemic is not over,” he said. “She was just being ignored.”

Hebert Holden Thorp, a well-known scientist in the field of chemistry and medicine, mentioned this in his article “It's not over, even if it's over”, published in the journal Science. In the article, he mentioned that the authoritative medical expert Anthony Fautsi had recently stated that the United States was “out of the pandemic phase.” However, he clarified that he did not mean the end of the pandemic at all, but the end of its “acute phase”.

At the same time, it is often known that one or another politician or top official of the US administration, including Vice President Kamalu Harris, have tested positive for Covid-19. Many members of Congress have also announced positive test results.

According to the author of the publication, the US administration is betting that vaccination will provide collective immunity and end the pandemic. However, evolution had other plans for this, and new variants of SARS-COV-2 continued the pandemic.

“During the preparation of this article, I tested myself on Covid-19,” writes Holden Thorpe. – The result was positive. And this is after four vaccinations! Fortunately, I had a prescription for the antiviral drug Paxlovid. The fever disappeared within a few hours after taking the drug. In a few days, a test for Covid-19 gave a negative result. This is great news for me, but not for those who do not have these resources, ”says the author.

According to Dr. Thorpe, SARS-COV-2 is rapidly mutating, with more pathogenic options already looming. horizon. The world is still barely vaccinated, and even in rich countries such as the United States, resources are unevenly distributed. The pandemic is not over. The time for the final whistle has not yet come.
