Strike on Saki airfield in the temporarily occupied Crimea, the Ukrainian military attacked, writes The New York Times with reference to an informed high-ranking military official.
“It was an air base from which planes regularly took off to attack our troops in the south. (…) Ukrainian-made weapons were used for the attack,” the interlocutor of the journalists told. He did not specify what kind of weapon it was.
According to the “Scheme” project, the 43rd Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Russian Aerospace Forces is based at the airfield. In particular, Su-30SM, Su-33 fighters and Su-24M bombers are located there.
