Terms of display of COVID-certificates are changed: answers of the Ministry of Health

Changing the display time only affects how long the certificate will be displayed in the application.

The Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Health and the National Health Service have changed the timing of COVID certificates in Action. The Ministry of Health has collected answers to the most common questions about the new changes.

Does the change in the term of the certificate in the Action affect the validity of the document?

No, changing the display time only affects how long the certificate will be displayed in the application. For example, if before the certificate expired after the expiration date, now the document will remain in the annex for up to 545 days from the date of vaccination. In addition, a previously lost certificate can also be returned to Action. To do this, re-request to generate the certificate.

Why change the display time of the document if it does not change its validity?

This will allow the use of a digital document for medical purposes, namely to confirm the fact of vaccination against COVID-19. This is important for citizens who have received 1 or 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine and traveled abroad. From now on, they can confirm their vaccinations in the host country with the help of a COVID certificate. And, most importantly, get the next required (2 or 3) dose of protection against coronavirus disease.

Now you need to make a booster after 545 days from the date of receiving the 2nd vaccination? strong>

No. We've just changed the timing of certificates in Action. The interval between the administration of 1, 2 and 3 doses of vaccination remained unchanged. It still remains:

  • from 14 to 28 days – between 1 and 2 doses;
  • from 180 days to 270 days – between 2 and 3 (booster) doses.

< h2> How long can I use the Ukrainian COVID-certificate abroad?

It depends on the rules of each member country of the COVID Certificate Trust. The validity of the certificate is calculated from the date of vaccination. Mostly the terms are as follows:

  • 1st dose – 30 days,
  • 2nd dose – 270 days;
  • 3rd (booster) dose – 270 days.

However, the terms can be both longer and shorter. The Ministry of Health recommends to clarify the data on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the desired country or through the service reopen.europa.eu .

Get another vaccination against COVID-19 according to the recommendations of the doctors of the host country. And get a confirmation document there.
