Ukrainian railway transport producers have asked the Ministry of Infrastructure (MIU) and Ukrzaliznytsia to reform the system of introduction of normative and technical documentation on the admission to circulation of new railway products.
Currently registration of new models and issuance of numbers freight cars are under the jurisdiction of the Russian Railways (RZ), which may block the production of new railway equipment in Ukraine , Interfax reports.
“Industrial enterprises producing railway products have signed a collective appeal to the IMU and UZ, asking them to review regulatory and technical relations with RH and the Railway Transport Council (RCT) of the CIS member states,” – said in a press release service (IS) “Freight in Ukraine”.
The information service published by the information service explains that in order to unify the requirements for rolling stock on public roads of the CIS and Baltic countries, Ukrzaliznytsia and other railway companies of Ukraine took part in the work of the Commonwealth member states (coordinating body of the former USSR) , cooperating with RH, in particular, on registration of new car models and issuance of numbers.
“Currently, cooperation with Russia is impossible due to military aggression against Ukraine, so it is necessary to reform the system and create a new procedure for implementing regulatory and technical documentation , admission of new products into circulation “, – it is said in the address.
