Tanks and more than a thousand drones: the USA announced new aid to Ukraine

The total cost of additional support was $400 million.

The Ministry of Defense of the United States of America announced the allocation of Ukraine an additional aid package in the amount of about 400 million dollars. Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh informed about it during a briefing.

The new support, in particular, includes:

  • 45 upgraded T-72 tanks with improved armor, optics and communication system;
  • 250 M1117 armored personnel carriers;
  • 40 armored boats;
  • 1,100 Phoenix Ghost tactical drones;
  • Hawk anti-aircraft missile systems;
  • tactical protected communications and surveillance systems.

Sabrina Singh clarified that the mentioned tanks are part of the joint efforts of the USA and the Netherlands. The two countries plan to repair 45 Czech T-72 tanks for our country. That is, in total, Kyiv will receive 90 units of such equipment.

According to the press secretary, the new package aims to help Ukraine in the ongoing confrontation with Russian aggression, and also contribute to the strengthening of the Armed Forces in the long term.
