St. Petersburg resident finds way to safely express his protest against Putin's “special operation”

One month after Russian troops invaded Ukraine and began a full-scale war the “Little Picket” account appeared on Instagram. It was created by St. Petersburg artist Eugene and launched on the already blocked at the time in Russia social network.

Action “Small picket” give people a chance to express themselves, even if they are scared. The author of the action suggested that users make a man with a poster out of any available material, place the activist anywhere, take a photo of him and send it directly to the account.

Currently, there are more than two hundred hand-made protesters at the online rally. These include men made of paper, cardboard, potatoes, plasticine and thread, as well as soft toys, statuettes and figurines of various characters.
