Since the beginning of the war, the European Union has transferred 35 times more to Russia than it gave to Ukraine – Borel

Russia receives as much from the EU every day as Ukraine receives in a month and a half.

For a month and a half of war in Ukraine, EU countries paid Russia € 35 billion for the supply of various resources, said EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell. At the same time, according to him, Ukraine was provided with tens of times less financial assistance. He said this on Wednesday, April 6, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“We have given Ukraine almost € 1 billion. This may seem like a lot, but € 1 billion is what we pay Putin every day for energy which he supplies us. We have paid him € 35 billion since the start of the war, compared to the € 1 billion we have given Ukraine, “Borrell said.” The EU also intends to approve a new package of sanctions, but Energy is still under discussion.

The diplomat believes that Europe should continue to arm Ukraine without provoking escalation.

“Wars are won by weapons and economic weakening of the enemy,” Borrell said./p>
