Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion < 1,982 civilians were killed in Ukraine. According to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, 4,633 civilian Ukrainians have been injured since the war began.

Among those killed were 511 men, 323 women, 34 girls and 56 boys, as well as 72 children and 986 adults. 2,651 civilians were injured. Most civilians were killed in heavy artillery and rocket-propelled grenades, missiles and air strikes. .

OHCHR also reports that the actual death toll is much higher, as information from some places of intense fighting has been delayed and many reports are still awaiting confirmation. This applies, for example, to Mariupol, Izyum, Popasna and Borodyanka.
