С начала полномасштабного вторжения РФ в Украине погибли семеро российских генералов – BBC

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, seven Russian generals have died, the BBC reports, citing data from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and the opinion of experts. The last of the dead was Lieutenant General Yakov Rezantsev , who turned out to be the highest in rank.

According to experts, the low morale in the Russian army is forcing senior officers to approach the front line.

BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner believes that reports of the deaths of Russian servicemen may be the reason why the generals had to be close to the battlefields.

It is stated that the Russian military doctrine almost does not allow lower and middle level initiatives, and junior ranks are always waiting for an order from above.

In turn, a retired officer of the British Army said that the death of generals also indicates a “very successful sniper campaign that could undermine Russian command structures.”
