Scholz is not going to go to Kyiv after refusing to visit Steinmeier

Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz no plans a visit to Ukraine in the near future and considers it wrong for Kyiv to refuse to receive President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. He stated this in an interview with the public broadcaster ZDF.

Commenting on a possible visit to Ukraine, he mentioned the refusal of the Ukrainian presidential administration Volodymyr Zelensky to accept German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and said that it “hinders the case.” .

“You can't do that. It cannot be said that a country that provides so much military assistance, so much financial assistance, is needed when it comes to security guarantees that are important for Ukraine's future, but the president of this country cannot come, “Olaf Scholz said. The German government will not go to Kyiv.

At the same time, Scholz assures that he never hesitated on the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine.

Recall, April 12, Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that Ukraine opposed his visit to Kiev with the presidents of Poland and Latvia , Lithuania and Estonia.
