Volunteers are encouraged to join in disseminating information and documenting data on damage to important sites in Kyiv, whose cultural heritage has a thousand-year history.
The Kyiv City State Administration announced the launch of a digital project to preserve memory of culture #SaveKyiv. This is stated in the telegram channel of the department.
“If you are a leader of public opinion, a representative of cultural and tourist organizations, media, foundations or companies working to preserve monuments – join the tourist and cultural hub of Kiev”, – outline the idea of the project in the message and they add that today it is very important to make the world community understand the historical significance of the architecture of the Ukrainian capital.
Everyone who wants to join the preservation of important cultural heritage sites of the Golden-Domed (which has a thousand-year history) requires the following information:
- How museums, temples, architectural monuments are trying to protect from damage in Kyiv;
- How you personally or your organization helps to preserve monuments;
- Video about the monuments of the capital, stories from tourist guides and appeals of celebrities to foreign media.
More than a hundred cases of damage to cultural heritage sites have been registered on a special platform of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy. Only in Kyiv is already damaged:
- Kyiv Small Opera Theater (building 1900-02)
- Former Jewish Cemetery Office (1899 building)
- Church of St. Joasaph of Belogorod (2007 building)
- Ukrainian Evangelical Theological Seminary (early 21st century building)
The materials collected on the platform can later be used as evidence for the criminal prosecution of those involved in crimes under Ukrainian law at the International Criminal Court in The Hague and a special tribunal after its creation.

Earlier we reported the destruction of dozens of churches as a result of the actions of the Russian army. These are churches of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the UOC-MP, Protestant houses of worship, Islamic mosques and Jewish synagogues.
