Russia intends to return Western companies with threats.
During the last week, the Russian prosecutor's office bypassed and called Western companies in various sectors of the economy, including technology, food, banking, clothing sales, in particular – McDonald's, IBM, Yum Brands, KFC, Pizza Hut – and warned of prosecution, up to arrests for leaving Russia. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing its own sources.
“The Russian prosecutor's office has warned Western companies in Russia, threatening to arrest local corporate leaders who criticize the government or confiscate the company's assets for leaving the country,” the statement said.
In particular, last week prosecutors warned companies such as Coca-Cola Co, McDonald's, Procter & Gamble, International Business Machines Corp. IBM, KFC, Yum Brands Inc., NYUM.

“Calls, letters and visits included threats to sue the company and confiscate assets, including trademarks,” the paper said.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the warnings prompted at least one of the target companies to restrict communications with their Russian business and the rest of the company, as they were concerned that e-mails or text messages could be intercepted.
Other companies transferred executives from Russia.
It will be recalled that on March 2, shares of Russian companies depreciated to a minimum as a result of sanctions against Russia, but still remained unclaimed at stock exchanges.
