Russia's reparations: the former US ambassador named the amount of damages that the Russian Federation should compensate Ukraine

The amount that will be reimbursed by the Russians after the war is growing every day.

With a full-scale invasion, Russia has caused hundreds of billions of dollars in damage to Ukraine and continues to do so in the future. The Ukrainian authorities are calling on international organizations to start working on mechanisms for future reparations payments from the Russian Federation right now, although the end of the war is still, most likely, not too close. The amount that Moscow will have to pay to Kyiv after its defeat is at least a trillion dollars, said the former US ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor during a speech at the summit of the International Crimean Platform.

According to the diplomat, as of October, Russia must pay Ukraine a trillion dollars in the event of a further cessation of hostilities and shelling.

“750 billion dollars or even a trillion dollars, necessary for the complete reconstruction of Ukraine, must be paid. At least $300 billion of them should come from the frozen assets of the Russian Central Bank. They are locked up in G7 banks,” Taylor said.

He added that Russia should lose this war and be punished. Exposol supports creating a special tribunal for high-ranking officials of the Russian Federationand payment of reparations. He notes that Russia's war against Ukraine is a “thousand-year war, not Putin's war,” as many believe.
