The department also assessed the situation in the Polesie, Seversk directions, in the Black Sea and Azov operational zones.
The Russian military command is regrouping the occupation forces to focus its efforts on the Slobozhansky and Donetsk areas. Such data is provided by the General Staff of the APU on its Facebook page as of the evening of March 29.
“There are thirty-four days of heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion. The enemy is withdrawing some units from the territory of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, as well as regrouping to focus the main efforts on the Slobozhansky and Donetsk areas, “the statement said.
The enemy continues to block Kharkiv. In the northeast of the country there is also a regrouping of Russian troops outside Ukraine. The key goal of such maneuvers in the General Staff is called the further overturning of enemy troops in other directions.
In particular, it is a question of withdrawal of separate divisions of the 1st tank army of the Russian Federation from the area of the city of Sumy. The enemy also strengthened the offensive capabilities of the group by separate units of the 20th All-Army of the Western Military District in the direction of Slavyansk. The General Staff characterizes the situation in the Black Sea and Azov operational zones as follows:
“The enemy's naval group continues to carry out tasks to monitor the situation, conduct reconnaissance and isolate the area to conduct hostilities.”
At the same time, they note that the situation in the Polesie, Volyn and Seversk areas remains unchanged until the enemy conducts active offensive operations. Nevertheless, it continues to block Chernihiv (Seversky direction) and does not stop inflicting fire damage on both military and civilian objects of the city.
