Russia is asking for negotiations and is waiting for proposals from the West

Statements about negotiations are coming from Russia at different levels.

After a series of defeats suffered in recent months Russia on the battlefield, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow is open to negotiations with the West regarding the war in Ukraine, but has not yet received any “serious proposal” regarding such a prospect.

< p>In an interview on state television, Lavrov said that Russia is ready to cooperate with the United States or Turkey on ways to end the war.

Lavrov also added that Russia has not received “serious proposals” for negotiations so far.

The minister noted that Russia will not refuse a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden at the G20 summit in mid-November in Indonesia, and will consider this offer if it receives one.

This is not the first time. a hint of Russia's desire to negotiate with Ukraine, which categorically refuses to negotiate with the aggressor. President Zelensky emphasized that negotiations with Russia can be forgotten as long as Putin is its president.

On September 30, during his speech in the Kremlin regarding the annexation of Ukrainian territories, Russian political leader Vladimir Putin, whose army is suffering significant losses in Ukraine, called on Kyiv to cease fire and go to negotiations.

During a speech at the summit of the heads of parliaments of the G20 countries in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, the head of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko offered the delegation of Ukraine to “immediately sit down at the negotiating table”.

Earlier edition Milliyet reported that Turkey would like to act as a mediator in the issue of ending the Russian-Ukrainian war and has already sent a plan for four-way talks to some Western capitals, in particular through private channels. However, the Russian Federation has not confirmed the receipt of such an offer.

At the same time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Berbock, doubts that at this stage of the war, it is possible to get out of it only through negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
