Russia is preparing special amendments to the law that will simplify the process of adopting deported children.
Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Children's Rights and Children's Rehabilitation Daria Gerasymchuk stated that Russia illegally deported or transported 181,000 Ukrainian children to the occupied territories, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“181 thousand Ukrainian children were illegally deported to Russia or transported to the temporarily occupied territories. Of these, 2,000 children are orphans or deprived of parental care,” Gerasimchuk said.
She stressed that Russia is preparing special amendments to the law that will simplify the adoption process of deported children. According to her, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is developing a special mechanism for the return of children.
