Russia finally lost the initiative in the battle for Donbas — Independent

Moscow is unable to achieve its goal, but it does not plan to give up.

The West does not believe that the Russian Federation will seize Ukrainian Donbas in the near future. The Independent writes about this with reference to the words of Western officials.

“Moscow will not seize the eastern industrial center in the near future, but they are not going to just give up and go home,” the interlocutor of the publication emphasized.

Sources say the war in Ukraine will continue in an “up-and-down” scenario, with Russia continuing to adapt and adjust its actions.

Earlier this month, Western officials said that despite varying degrees of success advancing into the territory of Ukraine, Moscow is still making some progress in achieving the goal it announced when it announced the special operation — “the liberation of Donbas”.

However, on Wednesday, July 27, one of the Western officials said that the probability of Russia capturing the entire Donetsk region in the coming months is “increasingly unlikely”.

Commenting on the strike by Ukrainian forces on strategic Antoniv bridge in the Kherson region, an anonymous official confirmed that, according to the West, the crossing is currently “completely unusable”.

As reported, the Russian occupiers, despite significant losses, do not stop trying to establish control over the territory of Vugleghirska TPP.

On July 27, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the logistics and transport routes of the invaders with a strike on the Antonivsky Bridge in the Kherson Region.

First Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council Yuriy Sobolevsky stated that the Russian occupying forces lack technical documentation, specialists and equipment for the rapid restoration of the Antoniv bridge.
