Russia accuses Ukraine of detaining Russian specialists at the Rivne NPP

Russia is spreading a fake in the IAEA about the forced detention of Russian nuclear specialists in Ukraine.

Russian propaganda continues to wage an information war against Ukraine, trying to discredit the country in the international arena. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine commented on the disinformation spread by the Russian Federation regarding the detention of Russian specialists at the Rivne NPP.

The Russian side is spreading a fake in the IAEA that its nuclear specialists are being forcibly detained at the Rivne nuclear power plant.

“There were no Russian nuclear specialists at the Rivne NPP. Four armed Russian citizens accompanied the cargo of nuclear fuel arriving at the nuclear power plant until February 24, 2022. From the moment the cargo arrived, they protected it until unloading was completed in accordance with the conditions contract, “the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

These people, after unloading their luggage, left the NPP on March 23, on the eve of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine. Citizens of the Russian Federation are still on the territory of Ukraine and do not express a desire to return home. They live in comfortable conditions in the hotel of their choice. Ukraine does not detain them by force and is ready to organize the return of foreign citizens to Russia.

We will remind, earlier the Head of the State inspection of nuclear regulation of Ukraine Oleg Korikov declared that the Ukrainian nuclear objects are still under threat because of military actions of Russia.
