US National Intelligence Chief Avril Haynes warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin may still declare martial law in Russia to mobilize and start a war in occupied Transnistria. Haynes was quoted as saying by the AFP News Agency in a speech to the Senate. “Putin has decided to extend hostilities to Russian-controlled Transnistria,” she said, without commenting on whether Russia had the resources to do so.
According to intelligence, the dictator plans to prolong the war in the region so that the United States and Western countries “lose their resolve” to counter his aggression.
“Putin can impose martial law in Russia in order to mobilize forces in the confrontation against Ukraine,” Haynes added.
