He does not completely reject the nuclear threat, but he does not believe that the Kremlin will still dare to use weapons of mass destruction.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to announcement of “partial” mobilization in Russia. He noted that President Vladimir Putin wants to tire our country with the blood of his military.
During an interview with Bild, he noted that such a decision indicates the fact that the Russian Federation had problems with personnel replenishment.
“Our special services and our allies have already said this. He has been mobilizing for the last month… We already know that they mobilized cadets, boys who did not know how to fight. These cadets died. They could not even finish their studies. All these people can't fight. They come to us and die…,” the president said. “He (Putin – ed.) sees that his units are just fleeing. He needs a million-strong army to come to us. Because he sees that a significant part of those who come to us simply run away.”
Zelensky also commented on Putin's nuclear threats: “I do not believe that he will use these weapons. I do not think that the world will allow him to use these weapons.”
At the same time, the Ukrainian president does not completely reject such a possibility. The main thing, according to him, is not to succumb to Russian blackmail and not compromise with the Russian president.
Zelensky also noted that he did not watch Putin's speech: “I have all the information I need. There was nothing new for me in this speech.”
