Consumer sentiment in Ukraine slightly improved.
In August of this year, the Consumer Sentiment Index in Ukraine was 75.6 points, which is 2.3 points higher than the indicator of the previous month. Moreover, all components of this indicator grew, except for the index of current personal financial situation, which remained at the previous level. This is evidenced by the data of the monthly research of the company Info Sapiens.
“The main indicators of consumer sentiment remain stable, there is a cautious upward trend in the last two months. It can be noted that in August the expectation of a fall in the hryvnia exchange rate significantly decreased,” Info Sapiens analysts comment.
In particular, the index of the current situation has increased and is 38.9, which is 1.6 points higher than the level of this indicator in July. The index of the current personal material situation was 30.4, which is 0.2 points lower than the indicator in July. The index of feasibility of large purchases increased by 3.5 points and stood at 47.3. The index of economic expectations in August increased by 2.8 points and is 100 points.
In August, the indicator of the index of expected dynamics of unemployment decreased by 6.4 points and is 140 points. The index of inflation expectations increased by 0, 3 p. and is 183.3 p. Ukrainians' expectations for the hryvnia exchange rate in the next 3 months have worsened: the devaluation index has decreased by 6 p. and is 151.6 p.

Earlier it was reported that such factors as a shortage of cash currency in banks, news about the level of consumer inflation for August, the meeting of the US Fed, which may raise the interest rate, and the issue heats up the market and causes prices to rise.

The index of consumer sentiment in Ukraine is determined on the basis of a sample survey of the country's households. In the course of the study, 1,000 people over the age of 16 are interviewed.
