Sociology proves that anti-vaccinationists are more likely to believe in conspiracy theories and are more likely to be exposed to Russian propaganda
The majority of vaccinated Austrians consider Russia responsible for the war in Ukraine. And unvaccinated people more often blame the USA and NATO for the war, which allegedly provoked Putin. Such results were shown by a survey of the University of Vienna, writes the Austrian publication profil.
The results of a survey by the University of Vienna showed that the absolute majority of people (88%) who were vaccinated against the coronavirus consider Russia to be responsible for the invasion of Ukraine, and vice versa – among ardent opponents of vaccination, the prevailing opinion is that the war was provoked by the USA and NATO – this is the opinion of 66% of anti-vaccinators.
“It has long been suspected that vaccination skeptics have a weak spot in Russia's vision. At demonstrations against the corona attacks, many of them waved white, blue, and red flags, and alt-right media platforms described the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine as having no alternative,” the publication writes.

“Conspiracy theory narratives about the Crown and the war in Ukraine are similar. It is always about the fact that there is a certain elite that is lying to you. The basic building block of all conspiracy theories is anti-elitism,” Austrian communications researcher Jakob-Moritz Eberl told the publication.
In fact, this once again proves that anti-vaccinationists are more inclined to believe in conspiracy theories, and therefore more vulnerable to the narratives spread by Russian propaganda. The publication predicts that the situation may worsen, because wars and crises contribute to the spread of conspiracy theories.
