The lowest average pensions in Ukraine are in Ternopil Oblast.
According to the Pension Fund estimates, the highest average pensions in Ukraine has pensioners from Kyiv, as well as Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In general, the average pension amount in the country as of July 1, 2022 was 4,437 hryvnias, and the total number of pensioners is 10 million 775,414 people.
If we take it by region, then the largest average pensions in Ukraine are received in:
- m. Kyiv – 6135.46 UAH;
- Donetsk Region – 5634.43 UAH;
- Luhansk Region – 5237.39 UAH;
- Dnipropetrovsk Region – 4989 .33 UAH.;
- Zaporizka Oblast – 4638.78 UAH.
The lowest average pensions are received in Ternopil Oblast (3410.54 UAH), Chernivtsi Oblast (3561, 93 UAH), in Zakarpattia Oblast (3638.82 UAH), in Khmelnytskyi Oblast (3736.28 UAH), in Volyn Oblast (3751.14 UAH), in Kherson Oblast (3765.38 UAH), in Vinnytsia Oblast (3768. 70 hryvnias).
A little more than 4 thousand hryvnias are received in Odesa, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv and Poltava regions, but even these payments do not reach the average pension in the country.

It was reported that the last increase in the living wage, and as a result, pensions and social benefits, took place in July. The next increase is expected in October. The minimum pension payment for unemployed persons aged 65 and over will increase, and a monthly additional payment will be introduced for persons aged 70 to 75. The subsistence minimum will be raised next on December 1, 2022, which means that the amount of social benefits will not change in August.
