The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska called on the United States of America to provide our country with more weapons and air defense systems to resist the invasion of Russia. She said this during a speech before both houses of the US Congress.
“I appeal to you on behalf of all those who have died. On behalf of those who have lost arms and legs. On behalf of those who are still alive and whole. From those who are fighting and who are waiting for their loved ones from the front lines. I am asking for one thing now , which I wish I had never asked for. I am asking you for weapons. Weapons not to wage war on foreign land, but to defend my home and the right to wake up alive in it.
I am asking you anti-aircraft defense. So that rockets do not kill children in their strollers, do not destroy children's rooms and entire families,” Zelenska said.
She noted that the United States has always sought to defeat terrorism, so she called for help to stop the Russian Federation's terror against Ukrainians. “This will be our joint great victory – in the name of life, freedom and the pursuit of happiness for every person, every family,” the first lady added.

Olena Zelenska also thanked the Americans, in particular President Joe Biden and the US Congress, for the assistance already provided to Ukraine in the fight for human life and independence of the state.
