The new sanctions against Russia , which US President Joe Biden is due to announce this Thursday, will affect a majority of Russian State Duma deputies, according to The Wall Street Journal.

“The Biden administration is preparing sanctions against more than 300 members of the lower house of the Russian parliament – the United States continues to put pressure on Moscow in connection with the invasion of Ukraine,” – said in a statement.

It is expected that it will be not only about new restrictions, but also about measures to prevent attempts to circumvent existing sanctions. But details of the new restrictions in Washington have not yet been commented on.

The sanctions will be announced in coordination with the European Union and the members of the G7. Biden plans to report on them during a visit to Europe for the NATO summit on March 24.
