NATO sees no signs of Russia's preparations for the use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine

Russian authorities have already used threatening nuclear rhetoric.

NATO has no data that could to point out that Russia's nuclear arsenal has been brought to a higher level of readiness. According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the alliance is doing everything possible to minimize such risks. He said this in an interview with Welt am Sonntag.

“We hear threatening nuclear rhetoric from the Russian leadership. This is irresponsible and ruthless. Nuclear war cannot be won and should not be started, including in Russia. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine on February 24, NATO has not noticed any changes in Russia's nuclear strategy, “said the alliance's secretary general.

Asked by reporters whether Russia's nuclear weapons were on high alert, Stoltenberg said NATO had “no indication of that.”

Our job is to minimize this risk. NATO is the strongest alliance in the world. And our message is clear: if nuclear weapons were used, there would be only losers on all sides, “said the NATO Secretary General.
