More than 4,000 Americans are ready to sponsor Ukrainian refugees in the United States – CNN

The US government's “Unite for Ukraine” state program yields first results.

More than 4,000 Americans have applied for sponsorship of Ukrainian refugees who want to come to the United States under the United for Ukraine program. This was announced by a representative of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services at CNN.

Sponsors who want to help Ukrainians must pass their own security check and declare financial support. The number of people who can be funded is unlimited, but it is noted that the capabilities of each person or group of sponsors will be assessed individually.

The state program Uniting for Ukraine was launched by the US government on April 25. It gives Ukrainians the right to enter the United States for up to 2 years with the right to apply for employment in the country. To be eligible for the program, Ukrainians had to stay in Ukraine as of February 11, 2022. The presence of a COVID certificate and a sponsor in the United States is also a mandatory requirement.
