The new law applies to both Ukrainians and the Russian military.
On April 1, the Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of the bill №7229, which establishes a monetary reward for the voluntary transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine of usable military equipment of the Russian Federation. This was announced by the People's Deputy from the “Voice” faction Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Facebook.
He added that the document was supported by 320 people's deputies.
According to the draft law, the money will be available to the military of the Russian Armed Forces or other law enforcement agencies of Russia, as well as servicemen of the Armed Forces, structures of the security and defense sector of Ukraine or other citizens of Ukraine.
The following rewards have been set for the voluntary surrender of Russian military equipment:
- combat aircraft (fighter, bomber and assault aircraft) – $ 1,000,000;
- combat helicopter – $ 500,000;
- rocket-propelled grenade launcher up to and including 122 mm caliber – 25,000;
- a rocket-propelled grenade launcher with a caliber of more than 122 mm – $ 35,000;
- tank, ground artillery (self-propelled) – $ 100,000;
- infantry fighting vehicle (landing), armored personnel carrier, armored reconnaissance patrol vehicle – $ 50,000;
- military vehicle (truck, specialized), military tractor, military engineering vehicles: reconnaissance, demining, mine barriers, bridge-laying, demolition, for paving roads, for excavation work, for overcoming water obstacles – $ 10,000;
- ships of 1 or 2 rank – $ 1,000,000;
- ships of 3rd or 4th rank – $ 500,000;
- military (auxiliary) support vessels – $ 200,000;
- small combat (intelligence) vessels – $ 50,000.
It is also noted that in case of transfer of equipment by the military of the Russian Federation, they can (at their request) be provided with the right to:
- keeping secret the fact that they have transferred the aggressor state's combat-ready military equipment;
- obtaining new documents with new installation data;
- security of their stay on the territory of Ukraine;
- creating conditions for departure to a safe third country.
