The DBR said that they found weapons and explosives in the attackers.
The State Bureau of Investigation together with the National Police detained 12 saboteurs , who were tasked with preparing protests and riots in the Odesa region on May 2 , the DBR reported. According to operative data, the suspects also worked on inciting the residents of Odessa to mass riots.
“Bureaucrats found an arsenal of weapons and explosives in the saboteurs. A large number of submachine guns, machine guns, grenades, pistols and ammunition were kept in the private house of one of the detainees. In addition, the rebels were found with flags with communist symbols, medals, anti-Ukrainian books and propaganda brochures. According to the enemy's plans, they were to implement their criminal plan for the anniversary of the tragic events – May 2, “the DBR said.
DBR investigators opened a case for treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). All were handed over to the Security Service of Ukraine for further procedural actions.

It will be recalled that on May 2, 2014, provocations took place in Odesa, as a result of which people died and were injured. Then, in the center of the city, confrontations began between ultras of football clubs and pro-Ukrainian citizens on the one hand and pro-Russian collaborators on the other. Later, the confrontation moved to Kulikovo Field and the House of Trade Unions, which was set on fire by Russian provocateurs.
